Lindsay's Writings

For many years, I thought myself incapable of writing anything beyond an essay assignment, and not even able to do that very well. In 1993 I enrolled in a local Adult Education class for Creative Writing, where I was forced to start writing, and loved it!

Since then I have written a small number of short stories, and an even smaller number of poems. Here are some of them:

New Beginnings - a short story about my great3grandfather Tom Green, based on fact
Frances, of the Carswell clan - a poem about births, deaths and marriages!
River of Blood - I visited Port Arthur only months before Martin Bryant did, and was greatly affected by what happened there
I have always liked... looking at the sky
The Photo - thoughts about a photo of my father and myself
Orange Grove Primary School - memories of the primary school I attended in the 1950s and '60s
Grief - a poem of despair and hope, written in the early morning after a particularly bad night.
Love - written for a suffering friend.
