First, a Hinet staff member will visit your premises and check for Hinet Wireless availability. You can do a quick pre-check to see whether you might be able to use Hinet Wireless by checking if you can see the communications towers on top of Mt Gibraltar. If you cannot see them, you may not be able to get Hinet Wireless, as the service uses microwaves in the 2.4GHz band - which may be limited to line-of sight. If you can see towers on the Gib, fill in this online application form and one of the Hinet staff will contact you to arrange a site survey.

If the site survey is successful (i.e.. Your premises receives adequate signal strength), Hinet will then arrange for a grid antenna to be installed on your roof, and cabling to run from the antenna into your premises and to your computer. A wireless card will be installed into your computer to connect it to the antenna.

Like Hinet ADSL, this is also a permanent connection to the Internet, so you always have access without having to dial-up. Unlike Hinet ADSL Wireless speeds are the same for both directions, which is great for when you want to share files with your friends.
