| VIETNAM WAR MEMORIAL THE CHERRY TREE WALK THIS PAGE SHOWS THE DEDICATION AND OPENING OF THE MONUMENT AT A PARADE IN 1999. THOSE CHOSEN TO ASSIST WITH THIS IMPORTANT EVENT ARE CHIEF OF THE GENERAL STAFF ADMIRAL BARRY AND LOCAL VIETNAM VETERANS GRAHAM TOOTH AND DOUG. BOTTOM OF THE PAGE WILL SHOW EARLY IMAGES OF THE RIVULET BEFORE THE CLEAN UP TOOK PLACE BY GARDEN COMITTEE WORKERS, 1996 TO 1999.
BOTTOM OF THE PAGE WILL SHOW EARLY IMAGES OF THE RIVULET BEFORE THE CLEAN UP TOOK PLACE BY GARDEN COMITTEE WORKERS, 1996 TO 1999. These are shots of the area from around the site of the Monument which demonstrates the size of the problem and the state of the Rivulet before the Garden Committee started to build the Dream.
THIS IS THE RESULT OF ALL THAT CLEANING. As you can see this is the result of al that work. This area is directly behind the Pergola and is looking back up the WALK towards the 8RAR Grove. It is very much a different vista than what was there when the project started on site in 1996. All this was delivered to the Southern Highlands by the Garden Committee which became the Vietnam War Memorial Trust at no cost to the Council or rate payers on the Highlands. Yet for some reason the Green Nazis wish to return the area to a semi botanical garden with areas close to established Cherr Trees being deliberately over planted with a variety of plants which are quick growing; and extremely high height trees; aimed at shadowing Cherry Trees so they don't survive.
The Next Page 'Memorial' lists those the Memorial Honours.
