SYMBOLS
OF SERVICE on SITE!
- Symbols of service
used on this site
are:-
- The
BADGE with the Kangaroo and riles, is called the "SKIPPY Badge" by the Diggers.
It is the Badge of the Royal Australian Regiment.
- The Flag is the National Flag
of AUSTRALIA.
- The midi on the entry page is the Australian National
Anthem, 'Advance Australia Fair'.
- The bayonet with the wreath is the Australian
Army Badge for 'ACTIVE SERVICE' and it is called the "INFANTRY
COMBAT BADGE".
- The ICB
is a highly covered Award and it is
being used in the ADF of the 21st Century to show those
who served at the 'Sharp End.
- Young Soldiers
are wearing it for Timor, Afghanistan and IRAQ.
- The wall paper is of the 'Skippy
Badge.'
- The Boarder Colour, MAROON is that of the 'Colour'
of 7 Battalion.
- The Lanyard worn by the Diggers of 7RAR was
Maroon and worn on the left shoulder to denote, a 'Fighting
Corps' as did the other Battalions of the Regiment in their
individual colour.
- The PIG is of course 'WILLY', the Mascot
of 7RAR.
- The SLR at the bottom of most pages to move left and
right through the site, was my main weapon in Vietnam.
